Star Wars

Last night I had dinner with Kenny Baker and his companion Valerie Gale. Mr. Baker is currently in town for our largest comic book convention in the area, Planet Comicon. The organizer needed people to take him out in the evenings, and naturally the local 501st, Rebel Legion, and FanForce Star Wars organizations were more than willing to help. Both he and Ms. Gale had some great stories that they shared about there movie experiences as well as other actors they had met at the various conventions across the world.

On the StarWars.com site they revealed a new character for the upcoming CGI Clone Wars series. This new character is listed as a Togruta "eager to prove herself as a worthy Padawan to her bold Master, Anakin Skywalker." WTF? And at what point does Anakin prove himself worthy of having a Padawan? What's even more frustrating is that Genndy Tartakovsky's great series Star Wars: Clone Wars has pretty much been wiped off of the Star Wars site like it never existed. Oh well. I guess time will tell whether this new series will be worth watching. So far my vote is "No."

Well it has been over a month since my last update and I am going to go ahead and say it will be a while before I update this site again. The weather is finally nice, and the only thing that can keep me inside right now is working on a costume. Which this summer I will be working on an X-wing Pilot Costume.

When the Fall comes back around again I expect that I will update this site more. I will finish my photo album and I start working on a costuming section of the site.

Wow I realized today that it had been almost a month since my last entry. I got so caught up in my costuming that I forgot to update this site. My Rebel Fleet Trooper costume is done and the pictures are below. Next task is to re-do my Jedi Costume. And I will eventually put a costuming section up on this site.

Well last week I was able to get more stuff done than I had planned, but I didn't necessarily work on what I said I was. I was able to make it to Tandy Leather. I picked up what I needed to make I my belt, and aside from sealing it I was able to finish it that night. Additionally, by the weekend I was able to finish my work on the Hasbro blaster.

I didn't get to any website updates that day, but I have since updated the calendar on the StarWarsKC.com site. At this point, I think the next website update I will be making will be add my resume to this site. I am not necessarily looking for a new job, but if one was offered to me for what I am making now I probably wouldn't turn it down either.
