I truncated my last post and decided it would be best if I split it up into two parts. I was going to write the second part last night as well as upload the rest of my photos from my trip, but before doing so I got a wild hair up my ass to go ahead and upgrade my PC with the processor I had purchased last week. Well I was able to get the new processor on, but now my PC won't boot. I'm not sure if I fried my motherboard, I have a bad processor, or both. The only way I know to test this is to put the old processor back on and see if it boots. If it doesn't then I can probably assume I fracked-up the motherboard. If it does boot, then I am reasonable sure that it's a bad processor. Either way, I can't test that until I can manage to get the heat sink off the new processor. The metal clamps on the heat sink are on there pretty tight. Short of breaking them off the plastic they are attached to, I'm not really sure how to get them off. Anyway the moral of the story is finish all the tasks you wanted to do before doing upgrades. As such, it will be a few days before I finish posting about my trip to St. Louis since I don't like to make these posts from work (like I am doing right now).
