This morning I was trying to send one of my friends a message on Facebook and I got the following message: Warning! Your account could be disabled. You are using this feature to spam other users. Continued misuse of Facebook's features will result in your account being disabled. If you have any questions or concerns, you can visit our FAQ page. Really?

I have decided that going forward I am to going to steal a tactic that I have seen used on some of my favorite Facebook Groups. Going forward all of my blog posts can be seen on both my web site and my Facebook account. Rather than continuing to fight for readers on my site I figure it is best for me to make my posts available to as many people as possible. Of course, I probably would have done this sooner had I realized that Facebook has an option to import your own RSS feed and publish it for you. Which speaking of which, if you would like to subscribe to my feed it is located here. I use Firefox to subscribe to my favorite feeds, but I am sure everyone has their own preference.

First let me say that my website is by no means a top tier site. I don't even get enough traffic to have an Alexa traffic ranking. However, I think that there is still something to be said about having your own website instead of just a MySpace or Facebook presence.

Back in the '90s having your own website was a geek badge of honor. 10 years ago it was unlikely that if you asked ten 16 year-olds to give an html tag that more than a couple would have been able to. Now, it is probably likely that most 16 year-olds would know at the very least the ‹a href› or ‹img› tags.
